With global warming and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, climate change has already altered natural systems and human lifestyles, and will continue to exert significant impacts on various aspects such as resource availability, economic activities, biodiversity, and human well-being in the coming decades.
Growing body of research evidence attributing extreme weather events indicates that greenhouse gas emissions resulting from human activities are responsible for climate change and the increasingly frequent occurrence of such events. To this end, public and government agencies at the international, regional, national, and local levels are actively developing and implementing innovative initiatives and measures aimed at reducing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere, thereby addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change.
